Jade Isabella Alexandra Nyström, born January 5, 2004, in Lapinjärvi, Finland, is known for her remarkable career as a high jumper. Competing initially in male categories, Jade made a notable mark with her personal best high jump of 1.94 meters achieved in Lappeenranta in July 2021. Through her athletic journey, she represented the sports club Korian Pontta under coach Kai Niemi. Jade’s decision to compete in men's categories was driven by her perspective on fairness in sports, particularly regarding transgender women competing in female categories. Her bold stance and exceptional talent made her a well-recognized figure in Finnish athletics before she retired from competition in 2024.
